We arrived in the beautiful Las Vegas a little after two in the morning. Me and Bren had spent the whole night talking and I'm pretty sure if we hadn't gotten home when we did, Spence would've strangled both of us.

The weird part about our relationship was that Jon and Spence were totally cool with it. I was expecting some sort of objection or whatever but they apparently didn't care just as long as we didn't totally start making out when they were around.

When we got back, we all went over to Spence's apartment. I fell asleep in Brendon's arms with his head nuzzled against my neck on the couch while Spence and Jon passed out on the floor.

As morning broke over the city that never sleeps, the first rays of sun crept through the blinds and into the crowded living room.

"Morning, Ry," Brendon whispered in my ear. His light, warm breath on my neck made me shiver.

"Morning, Bren," I grumbled back. I wasn't what you would call a morning person. We hadn't moved all night which is good because I was half expecting to wake up on the floor with a huge bruise starting to form on my arm.

I looked up to see Brendon's gorgeous chocolate brown eyes gazing down on me. Leaning down he pressed his warm full lips against mine. He moved to kiss my jaw then down to my neck sending more shivers down my spine.

"Bren," I whined, "it's too early. Maybe later, okay?"

"Fine," he sighed giving a last kiss on my cheek, "Later."

Without warning my stomach rawred with fury. Brendon gave a light chuckle as Jon and Spencer stirred.

"What the hell was that?" Spence said.

Rolling my eyes I said, "What do you guys wanna eat?"

"Pancakes!" Jon exclaimed as he stretched.

"Brendon? You up for pancakes?" I teased.

"Haha… not unless you make them because I'm obviously not capable of such a task," he sarcastically replied, sticking out his tongue.

"Love you too, Bren," I said giving him a quick kiss on his lips.

"Oh it's just so cute I can't stand it!" Jon said with extreme sarcasm. "Seriously guys? Way too early for that."

"Shut up," Brendon said kissing me back then carefully got off me and to his feet. As he walked past Jon, he swung his leg back as if to kick him, but pulling back at the last second, making Jon flinch.

I shrugged my shoulders with a half smile at Jon as I followed Brendon into the kitchen area. "Spence, do you have any flour or anything?" I asked rummaging through the empty cabinets.

"Uh... no? Dude, we just got off a six month tour, what did you expect me to have?" he answered back from the other room.

"Shit Spence, you don't even have cereal," I said with a hint of annoyance. "All right kids," I said clapping my hands together, "looks like we're gonna take a field trip out to eat."

Piling into my car, everyone was arguing about where to go.

"We gotta go to Denny's."

"Denny's sucks. We're goin' to Big Boy."

"Guys! Shut up and pick a place or I'll turn around and go straight home!" I yelled over them. I swear I'm like their mom or something.

"Yes, guys, behave," Spencer said.

"Kiss ass," Jon mumbled under his breath followed by an, "Ow!" as Spencer elbowed him in the ribs.

We ended up going to the McDonald's drive thru. Truthfully, I could care less where we went, I was starving. After getting bag after bag of food, we drove home and dug in. All the food was gone within about five minutes.

After breakfast it was only about ten o'clock and we decided to stay in and watch a movie because everyone was still pretty tired. Curling up in Brendon's lap with his arms around me, the movie started. Four 17 and 18 year old guys watched Finding Nemo. I know what you're thinking: what the hell?! But it really wasn't that bad. Probably because Brendon would put his head on my shoulder and nuzzle his face into my neck, sneaking quick kisses. I felt him smile every time he pressed his lips against me.

~Brendon's POV~

Just as Dory and Marlin were racing on the jellyfish and Ryan and I were in the middle of something, Ryan's cell phone rang. He pushed my hand away and reached into his back pocket.

"Hello?" he asked. Pause for response.

"Ok? What's going on?" Ryan asked with concern as he got to his feet and walked to the kitchen. By this time Spence had paused the movie and looked at me with confusion.

Who is it? Spencer mouthed. I shrugged my shoulders in response.

"Are you sure? Yeah, I'll be right there." Ryan said.

He shuffled back into the living with his head dipped and eyes transfixed on his phone.

"Ry, what's wrong?" I asked freaking out a little.

Lifting his head he answered, "Uh… my dad got into an accident and is in the hospital."

"What? How? When?" Jon stuttered.

"I don't know. They said to come down there and they'd explain everything. They said it didn't look good. He was drunk."

"I'm so sorry Ryan." Spencer said.

"Can you guys come with me? Just in case something happens…" Ryan asked.

"Of course, Ry." I reassured him. Walking over to him I hugged him and whispered, "It's gonna be fine." I kissed him as a single tear escaped his eye.

We all crowded into Ryan's car for the second time that morning as Ryan defied the speed limit all the way to the hospital. It's a wonder how we didn't get pulled over.

Once we arrived, we raced through the shiny sliding doors and towards the front desk.

"I'm Ryan Ross; you guys called like 15 minutes ago and said my dad got in an accident."

"What's your father's name?" the reception asked ridiculously calm.

"George Ross," Ryan answered impatiently. I grasped his hand in an attempt to comfort him.

"He's in surgery right now but I'll make sure that one of his nurses comes and explains everything."

"Thanks," Ryan replied.

If I wasn't mistaken, I could've sworn that the receptionist whispered, as we headed towards the waiting room, "Did you see him? Damn he's hot."

Wow… desperate much, I thought. Not that I disagreed, he's gorgeous, but really? I would love to see their faces if they found out Ryan was taken… by me. I smiled at the thought.

Making our way to the waiting room, we picked the seats in the corner and sat in silence. Ryan laid his head on my shoulder as I stroked his soft hair.

After about an hour, a nurse, who had to have been around our age, with orange and yellow hair came in and asked if there was a guy named Ryan Ross there.

"I'm Ryan," he answered raising his head and sniffled a little.

"Hi, I'm Nurse Hayley and I'm helping to take care of your dad. I'm assuming no one has told you anything yet?" she asked sitting down next to him.

"No, I haven't heard anything. What happened? Is he okay?"

"Well… to be honest, he's not doing well. He was in a very bad car accident that killed the other driver instantly. He just got out of surgery to repair his internal bleeding and a punctured lung," Hayley answered. She seemed nice. It would really suck to be in her position: having to tell countless people that their loved ones were dying.

"He's in recovery, but, I'm so sorry, he's not expected to make it through the night. He's on a respirator. You can go in and see him in a few minutes if you want. He's in room 274."

Ryan chewed his lower lip and nodded as Hayley got up and walked out.

"Ry? I'm sorry. Do you wanna go see him?" I asked. Still biting his lip he nodded, stood up and grabbed my hand.

"We'll stay here and wait. Take your time," Spence said as we shuffled out the door.

As we entered the room there was a symphony of beeps, buzzes, and labored breaths coming from the bed that held Ryan's dad.

Ryan inched toward the bed as I stayed back by the door. He sat down in the chair and started talking.

"Damn it, dad. Don't you know better?! What the hell were you thinking?" he said shaking his head. "I don't even know what to say. The nurse on the phone earlier said you had three times the legal amount of alcohol in your system."

*Ryan's POV*

"You said you would stop. And you know what the crazy part is? I believed you." I was disgusted. I couldn't believe this was happening. How could he do this to himself?

All of a sudden the unforgettable beep of the heart monitor flat-lining sounded. Within seconds, three nurses were rushing towards him and pushing me away. I watched as they got the crash cart and yelled, "Clear!" over and over.

Brendon held me from behind to steady me. No tears escaped my eyes. I was in shock.
After what seemed like an hour, the nurses stopped, and the one I recognized as Hayley nodded to the others. She turned off the monitor and glanced down at her watch. "Time of death: two forty-seven p.m." She looked up at me and said, "I'm so sorry, Ryan."

"Let's just go," I muttered to Brendon as I turned to walk out. I had spent enough time in hospitals over the years because of my dad's stupidity, and now, I wouldn't have to go through it anymore.

Brendon went back to the waiting room to get Jon and Spencer while Hayley walked me to the reception desk to fill out some paper work.

Brendon didn't see me as fit to drive so I was in the passenger's seat. The car ride back to Spencer's was silent while I fought off stares.

"Guys, I just wanna be alone," I said after we walked in the door.

"Ok, Ry, just tell me if you need anything," Brendon said. I walked over and grabbed him by the waist pulling him in. I pressed my lips onto his, then to his jaw. I pulled back before I could get too carried away. Then I shuffled down the hall, into the bathroom, and locked the door.

I knew I couldn't deal with this. No matter how much I hated my dad for everything he did, I still felt bad. I had just told him off on his deathbed. I started opening the cabinets and drawers. Spencer had to have a pair of scissors or a razor. I had done this before. Brendon didn't know that though. I knew what I was doing. Finally, I found a pair of scissors that seemed to be sharp enough.

Sliding down the cool tile wall, I sat down in the corner. I took off my hoodie and, opening the scissors all the way like you would if you were going to curl ribbon, I lifted my left arm. I took a deep breath and put the edge to my wrist, pushed down, and slid it across.

The familiar shot of pain coursed up my arm followed by numbness that cleared my head. I let out a rugged breath trying not to make a sound.

Ruby red liquid flowed out of the slit and started dripping onto the floor. I'd clean it up later. I slid the razor sharp edge over my wrist again and again until there were five straight cuts. I know this isn't how you're supposed to deal with your problems but this is my life and I'll live it how I want. More blood seeped out and soon I was covered. I started feeling light headed. I fought unconsciousness as I closed my eyes.

~Brendon's POV~

"I'm gonna go check on Ryan. He's been in there a while," I told Jon and Spencer who had retreated
to the couch.

Walking down the hallway, I reached the bathroom door and knocked. "Ry? Are you okay?"

No answer.

"Ry?" I asked again.

No answer.

"Ryan!" I screamed. I tried to open the door but it was locked. "Shit. Spencer! Do you have a key that opens the door?!"

"Yeah, it's on the top of the door frame. Why? What happened?"

"Ryan locked himself in there and he won't answer me!" I answered as I reached for the key. I fumbled to get it into the hole and turn it. The click of the lock allowed my entrance.

Ryan was on the floor with blood everywhere and scissors resting on his lap. His head was slumped to the side.

I rushed to his side and checked his pulse. "Ryan! Ryan, please wake up. Ryan! Come on, don't do this please! Jon call 911!"

*Ryan's POV*

The last thing I remember is being on the floor and Brendon yelling at me. Then all of a sudden I'm in a hospital gown hooked up to an IV with that annoying beeping of the heart monitor. Opening my eyes, I turned my head and saw Brendon sitting in the chair next to my bed.

"Bren?" I said groggily.

"Ry? Oh my god! Ryan?" he said standing up caressing my face and kissed my forehead.

At the foot of the bed stood Hayley. She was just everywhere wasn't she? "You gave us quite a scare, Ryan," she said sternly but smiled sweetly. I had to admit she was pretty cute but I was the property of Brendon Urie.

I looked down and saw my wrists had been bandaged and taped. They probably found my other scars. Damn it.

"We had to give you a blood transfusion and Brendon over here was your donor," she said looking over at him.

I turned to face him again and he smiled his amazing half-smile.

Hayley sighed, "Can I talk to Ryan alone for a minute?"

"Yeah, sure. I'll be right outside," Brendon told me as he walked out.

"Now Ryan, I'm guessing you've already realized how stupid it was? 'Cause if not, then I'll tell you now," Hayley told me.

"Yes I know," I responded.

"Good. But the thing that bothers me is that you've done it before." I pretended not to know what she was talking about but she saw right through that one. Brendon's right… I'm not the best actor. "I saw your scars. Ryan, why didn't you get help? Does Brendon know?"

"He can't know."

"Why not? He seems to really care about you." You have no idea I thought.

"If he knew he would be really upset. He can't know. And you're not about to tell him."

"Fine. Technically, I'm not allowed to tell him. But I strongly suggest you do," she said firmly. Lowering my head, she shuffled out of the room and Brendon came back.

"Ryan, why did you do that? You could've just talked to me. Don't pretend that I don't know you've done it before either." Oh my god, what the hell is with all the psychic-ness going on about my personal life lately? "Ryan, please just look at me," Brendon pleaded.

"I didn't want you to know," I whispered.

"Just answer me this question then: how often do you do it?" he asked with concern.

"I haven't done it in a few years," I said still trying to avoid Brendon's eyes.

"Okay, Ryan. You can't ever scare me like that again. You owe Jon and Spencer an apology too. They were freaking out."

"Are they here?" I asked.

"Yeah. I'll go get them."

Brendon was back within about two minutes with Jon and Spencer trailing behind him.

"Hey, Ryan. How ya feeling'?" Spencer asked.

"I'm okay. Listen guys. I'm really sorry. I was such an idiot. I know it was really stupid," I admitted.

"Ya think?!" Jon half-yelled. This time Brendon elbowed him in the ribs.

"Sorry to break this up, but I just wanted to let you know that Ryan has to stay overnight for observation," Hayley said to Jon, Spencer, and Bren. Then turning to me, "I'm thinking that you're gonna get a lot of crap from these guys and I have no doubt they'll look after you like crazy, so I'm not going to sign you up for therapy. Your welcome."

I saw Spencer check her out. I'm guessing she felt his eyes on her and smiled at him. She walked over to my side, leaned down, and whispered in my ear, "Is he taken?" I could feel the heat from her blushing cheeks.

"No, he's single," I laughed. She wrote down something on her pad of paper, casually walked past Spencer and gave it to him grinning as she practically skipped out the door.

Glancing over at Spencer, I see him open up the folded piece of paper. A smile that reached ear to ear spread across his face. "Score!" he yelled as he glanced down at the seven neatly drawn digits.

"Way to go, Spence!" Brendon said high-fiving Spencer.

---The Next Day---

I was discharged from the hospital the next morning with strict rules to stay away from anything sharp. Wow, is it just me or are hospitals just getting more and more original?

Spencer and Hayley were talking and had already set up a date for that night.

Brendon drove me home and decided to stay the night. We watched movies all day. What can I say? We love movies. We curled up on the couch and ended up taking a nap until; once again, my impatient stomach woke us up.

I for one actually had food in my house and made spaghetti. As I rushed around the kitchen, Brendon was right behind me making sure I was careful.

We sat down and ate in silence as my shoved the food down. When we stopped eating, I got up and cleared the plates. We were all movie-d out so we went out for a walk. Brendon grabbed my bandaged hand and we continued to walk and talk around the neighborhood until dusk. Climbing up the steps to my porch and through the front door, I dragged Brendon to the living room.

"Bren," I said, "it's later." I pushed him against the wall and started kissing him.

"Why yes it is," Brendon said putting his hands on my hips and pressing his lips to my neck. I tangled my hands in his hair. I pushed him onto the couch and laid down pulling him on top of me. He pressed his lips against mine and moved to my jaw. This is as far as we've ever gone. We decided that we weren't ready for anything more, but that might change soon.

"Bren, I love you," I gasped.

"I love you too, Ry. Now shut up and kiss me," Brendon practically panted. I kissed him and moved down to his neck. Our breathing quickened as the make out session intensified. "Let's get these teen hearts beating faster, faster," Brendon quoted our lyrics. I smiled under his lips.

Not ten seconds later there was a knock on the front door. We both froze and Brendon whispered,
"Maybe if we ignore them they'll go away." But sure enough there were three more knocks on the door.

Sighing I said, "Damn it. I'll be back." Brendon got off me and I stood up and trudged to the door.

"Jon? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Sorry I didn't call first. I needed someone to talk to and over the phone felt weird," Jon said seeming a little embarrassed.

"Uh… okay. Come on in. Brendon and I were just um… never mind." We walked into the living room to see Brendon, surprisingly composed, on the couch flipping through channels on TV. I was gone less than three minutes and he gets bored… way to go, Bren. "Hey, Bren, Jon stopped by."

"Oh, hey Jon. What's going on? You okay?" Brendon asked.

"Yeah I guess. I just wanted to ask you guys a question," he said blushing.

"Shoot."

"Well… how did you guys like… figure out…" Jon stuttered.

"That we liked each other?" Brendon helped out. Jon lifted his head and nodded. "What's this all about, Jon?"

"You can't tell anyone, okay? I… I think I might… like Spencer," Jon confessed.

"Oh… well as for your first question… I kinda just blurted it out after a concert one night," I told him blushing a bit.

"Then I told him that I felt the same and it just kinda went from there. Listen, Jon, if you're sure about this you need to just tell him how you feel. Cliché I know, but…it might help if it's all out in the open," Brendon said.

"But you saw how he was with Hayley. They both seem really into each other."

I put my arm around Jon's shoulders and said, "It's your choice whether you want to tell him or not. But before you do you should be absolutely sure about your feelings and that it's for real."

"Okay, I'll see what happens. Thanks guys. It kinda helped just telling someone… you guys don't think I'm weird, do you?" Jon asked.

"Jon, of course we do, but not because you have a crush on a guy. Have you seen us lately?" I laughed.

"Oh yeah… right. Well I should get going and leave you two to your… business," Jon said standing up.

"Okay, Jon. Well just call if you need anything," Brendon said as he and I got up and followed Jon to the door. I felt kinda bad for Jon. I mean he's never really been in a real relationship with anyone and the one person he falls for is currently taken. I hope he doesn't take it too hard.

_~Jon's POV~_

The talk with Brendon and Ryan helped a little but it would help if Spencer wasn't currently on a date with Hayley. It was true she was probably better for him. I had to admit she was really cute.

It was about eleven o'clock when Spencer finally came home. I lived in Spence's apartment for the time being until I found my own place. He came through the door; his eyes looked glazed over with a smile on his face. I tried to act casual. "So how'd it go, Spence?"

"Amazing. Hayley's really cool. We have another date tomorrow." He was clearly really happy. How could I mess this up for him?

"That's awesome, Spencer. I'm really happy for you," I congratulated with surprising evenness in my
voice.

"Thanks, now all we need is to find someone for you!" he laughed. "Well I'm gonna crash for the night. 'Night, Jon."

"'Night, Spence."  I can't tell him now. And I don't even know if this is for real. Why couldn't I just fall for Hayley and be jealous of Spencer in that way? Life sucks.
Sorry it took so long. This is the longest one yet. I'm not too sure about the ending. What do you think?
